If
you want to explore the surrounding areas, Rico is centrally
located along the beautiful San
Juan Scenic Byway in the heart of the breathtaking
San Juan Mountains. Telluride is
an easy 30 minute drive, Arches and Canyonlands National
Parks are three hours, Black
Canyon of the Gunnison National Park is two and a half hours,
and
Durango is
an hour and a half.
Rico
is also located within the area known as the Four Corners region.
Here you'll find such
attractions as Mesa
Verde National Park, the Durango
to Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, Orvis
Hot Springs
and McPhee
Resevoir.
During
the summer months, neighboring Telluride is home to some of the finest
music and film festivals in the world including Mountain
Film, Bluegrass, Blues
& Brews, the Jazz
Celebration and the Telluride
Film Festival.
